Italy : Giorgia Meloni, the Italian Prime Minister, was recently in the news again after her virtual address at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in the U.S. and the rapture it sparked as she noted the emergence of conservative leaders around the world. She singled out Indian PM Narendra Modi as well as other right-wingers around the world – Donald Trump, Javier Milei, who she said represent a vanguard for conservative values in her speech.
“Double Standards” of the Left
Meloni was taking a strong stance against the Left, accusing them of hypocrisy. She noted how leaders like Bill Clinton and Tony Blair were lauded for global liberal movement in the 90s but today’s conservative leaders who join together are a “threat to democracy.”
And all the attacks from the media and the political opposition have in fact fallen flat with the people who continue to elect right-wing leaders because those leaders offer priorities of freedom, national security, family and economic growth.
Supporting Trump and the Conservative Movement
The Left, Meloni said, is “turning irritation into hysteria” because of Trump’s victory, to which she expressed her “total support” for the former president. She stressed that conservatives are coming to power around the globe because they oppose wokeism, defend free speech and protect the identity of the nation.
Speaking on Ukraine
On the Ukraine war, Meloni emphasized the continued need for strong leadership to preserve peace. She stressed that there was power in unity to galvanize support for Ukraine’s struggle for freedom against aggression.
Her speech further cemented the global fist of the growing list of Western alliances working to unite conservative leadership to fight against the short-sighted and failing global projects imposed upon us all with Modi’s mention signal our places as force to reckoned with once they get hold of us on the world stage.
